Gary A. Moore, Sr., has been married to his wife Dianne for 38 years and they are parents of 5 children, four of whom live in the Philadelphia region and one in Nashville, TN. His children from oldest to youngest are successful in their own right; Gary Jr., is an IT coder for a financial firm, Rachael is an emergency room doctor, Ross is a nuclear/mechanical engineer, Jeremy is a chemical engineer, and Alyssa manages a restaurant.
Gary has extensive expertise in construction and the civil engineering field, from both the public and private sectors, in America and abroad. This has been a blended experience that began with owning/managing a construction company, to government service as a public official, included owning an engineering firm performing engineering services for municipalities and utility companies along with commercial and residential clients, and has worked for engineering firms providing energy, solid waste, water and wastewater consulting services for predominately municipal/government clients in the US and worldwide.
Having global experience in locations such as Iraq, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Kenya and South Sudan serving USAID, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Engineers Without Borders, Gary has a familiarity in working with other countries and their cultures, as well as developing nations and their governmental structures. This experience has involved performing systems analysis, studies and master plans, and asset management for energy programs, solid waste, wastewater and water engineering design for numerous municipal projects and some private sector clients, as well as site design and construction management.
Gary earned a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and is a Professional Engineer in the states of Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New York. He has authored and/or co-authored papers, speaking/presenting at regional, national and international conferences on the subjects of water and wastewater management at Water Environment Federation Technical Education Conference, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Water Resources Association and Chesapeake Water Environment Association conferences.
