Charles and his wife, Chari, have served in Kenya since 1980. Charles’ passion is helping teachers of adults facilitate learning for transformation rather than teaching for information. Assisting learners to become the people they want and need to be is what Chip is all about. He was on the faculty of Daystar University for 24 years, where he founded the first full-time faculty development program in any African university. He helped found and was the chair of the Association for Faculty Enrichment in Learning and Teaching (AFELT). AFELT is an Africa-wide body that promotes the professional development of those who facilitate learning in colleges and universities. Chip is also co-founder of Ukarimu Ministries, along with Chari. Ukarimu provides mentoring and discipleship for students at Daystar University’s main campus in Athi River, Kenya. Ukarimu Ministries also includes marriage and family counseling and training.
